misreading the title and thought this would be a good book to learn the tunes on a tin whistle I was misreading the title and thought this would be a good book to learn the tunes on a tin whistle. Are the cords above the music score for the whistle or guitar? Also there are no notations for beat and measures. I guess this was for people who would just know. Lots of tunes are in the book. Disappointed as it was not what I was expecting.. Skip this and get 'The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tunebook' instead. If you aren't able to get 'The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tunebook' for some reason then this would be be a fine substitute, albeit at twice the price of the former. Like the 'Tunebook', this is a collection of mainly reels and jigs, with a few hornpipes, polkas and others. The staff size is quite small because two or three tunes are crammed on each page. So, if you don't mind paying twice the price for the same number of tunes stuffed onto a third of the number of pages get this book, otherwise get the 'Tunebook' by the same author.. A Good Tool for Learning Tunes Aufrance This is a good tool for learning tunes, especially helpful for those who do not have an Irish uncle who can bring over his button box eery evening and teach you at your own pace. The addition of guitar accompaniment enhances this presentation over the prior book.The tunes are played at a pace that the beginning player can absorb at one's own leisure.
