Not just a music book Janice E. Dekelbaum This book is a factual yet fun guide to amazing sax solos and the musicians who played them. There is info on how to play the solo, a biography of the famous saxophonist who originally played it and info about their preferred saxophones, reeds and mouthpieces. Having the CD included makes this a fun experience. The music pieces are challenging but can be tackled if you . "great rock solos" according to Ulrich Krieger. this is a great collection of blues, r 'n r, r 'n b, rock and pop saxophone solos. this is not for the jazz purist. this is rock music. but it shows the art of rock n roll saxophone. unfortunately many modern rock/pop sax solos are being played by jazz musicians and the tradition of blues/rock saxophone is getting lost. here you find great solo playing and great transcr. a good condensation of 70' rock pop saxophone N. weissbart supertramp "logical song", pink floyd "money" It's very fun to play that great solos.
