This is a must read for aspiring young musicians and anyone who has been touched by the music of Exile. This resulted in 10 number one country hits. This book pays close attention to that era. Exile is an entity that held together. Several people have been a part of Exile, and each member contributed in different ways. During this time they played on three of Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars tours, released a series of singles and two full-length albums, worked with Tommy James, and played all over the Central Kentucky area and beyond. This book gives a thorough history, but it is an unfinished story because the band plays on.. They each have a separate story, but this is the story of a band. In addition, a talented group of Kentucky musicians helped to rejuvenate the band in the 1990s, and this book tells their stories as well. After several less successful follow-up singles, the band decided to make a move to country music. It shows how talent must be combined with patience, bull-dogish-stick-to-it-tive-ness, a willingness to put in the hard work that is needed

Great book about a great band Nate BeVier Westbrook has succeeded in writing an accurate history of a band in an entertaining way. The book flows through the history and various transitions of Exile and is an enjoyable read for anyone familiar with their music. There is a great deal of information about the early years of the band that I did not know, and it contains an amazing and large group of photos that chart their history as well. I highly recommend it!. A superb and detailed account of a decades long working band Khari Wynn Noted musician, musicologist, and teacher Randy Westbrook has written a thorough and heavily researched account of a talented, resilient bands ups and downs in the roller coaster of the contradiction known as the music business. Westbrook has really done his homework and presents the facts in a clear and concise narrative. This book was a great read and is interesting and informative for both long-time, die-hard fans, and those, like myself, who are new to both the band and they're rich history. Still going strong. Carole E. Williams Have been an EXILE fan for over 30 years. I am enjoying reading about the development of the group from its inception.
