Excellent Vocal Instruction text:Alfred's teach yourself to Sing/CD This is an excellent instruction text for aspiring singers. I am a vocal coach and use this text as a foundation for instruction for my students. It comes with a CD and gives the student an excellent opportunity to practice singing with the CD with a full bodied orchestra. IT also has excellent instruction on proper breathing technic, and vocal exercises as well as documented resources from famous vocal artists that is very inspiring for our studen. "Helpful Tool" according to JCarr. I am a private voice teacher and have found this book to be a good tool for specific lessons, warm-ups and songs. It gives us a place to start and keeps me on track to teach the basics in a good, sequential order.. Wonderful for teaching voice! This book is a beginning voice teacher's dream. I wish that there were a second one! I love the warm-ups, the practical suggestions and the song choices. Beginning voice students learn the right techniques for healthy singing.
