"Loved the Hibbard Bernini book!" according to Stephen Vinson. This book was a gift for my wife and she absolutely loved the detail. She is a Bernini buff and was happily surprised by the amount of information in this book. We are using it to plan a tour in Rome of as many Bernini works as we can fit in and it is an enormous help with this. I can highly recommend it.. Hibbard is a master sculpture historian: Hibbard is one of the world's most respected and informed historians of sculpture. And he's a good writer too. That sums up my review. He is one of those teachers that as a student you can never forget. In one class, he showed a slide of Manet's Luncheon on the Grass and compared it with the punk band Bowowow's album cover which recreated the artwork by photograph, depicting the lead woman singer in the nude.
