Having grown up in the area where most of his homes were built, I had seen many of his homes, but never knew the name of the architect. The book is richly filled with floor plans, marvelous illustrations from the past and present and wonderful descriptive text. I would love to see Bret Parsons do more books on some of the other architects who practiced in Southern California during what I believe to be the golden age of reside. "Colcord: Home" according to Stephen J. Titus. Colcord: Home - is a wonderful book, especially for those of us who like to study architectural plans to understand the photographs of a residential building. The then and now photos and the interior drawings by Colcord make the book really relevant.. I want a Colcord Home After reading and relishing Bret Parsons book Colcord Home, I found myself longing to climb onto a window seat in one of those beautiful homes, pick up a good book, and with a fire in the fireplace, read all day. Bret and photographer, Mary Nichols, capture the feeling of a romantic era and what the word Home should mean. I especially like the well researched stories the author includes about celebrities who lived in these houses. Usually, I flip through a book of this sort, enjoying the photographs, but I don't read it.
