Dont waste your $ I'm still trying to get to a chapter that actually has SOMETHING to do with her life & career. So far,it's a difficult boring read, mainly about her 1st husband. DULL. "SHOCKINGly Pedestrian: SCHIAP deserves more!" according to g.c. guy. This is a dull book. The author, evidently a highly lauded "serial biographer," imparts none of the style, daring or color of her subject, nor is she able to make her subject come to life. I should have known from the misguided candy pink cover (that features dung brown, no less) that this was not going to be a rewarding experience. American Vogue, in 1927, presented her entire collection as Works of Art. She designed an otter-fur bathing suit and a hat inspired by a lamb chop.  “Dare to be different,” Schiaparelli advised women, and she lived it to the height; a rebel against convention—social as well as fashion. Here is the never-before-told story of this most extraordinary fashion designer, perhaps the most extraordinary fashion designer of the twentieth century, in her day more famous than Chanel. By 1930, her company was grossing millions of francs a year. Her boutique at an eighteenth-century palace at 21 Place Vendôme opened into a cag
