His gospel music background, the struggle getting into the music business, the fact that he'd been married (and divorced) before he married June Carter, his almost life-long struggles with drug addiction. I'd always just listened to his fantastic music - evidently tuning out all the bad soundbites.For several years in the 80s I had lived in Casitas Springs, in Ventura County, California - - where he'd lived with his first wife. Everyone in town was very proud to point out the house where Johnny cash had lived, like it w. Great little book about a fantastic musician! I just love this man's music! I had originally read this title on my Grandmother's kindle, and just now downloaded it onto mine so that I could refer back to it during my music group's discussions. There is so much covered here that I had NO idea went on in this man's life, or that he had such a broad range of musical styles. As this week's group topic of discussion is my choice, I plan on choosing Johnny Cash - thanks to this eBook. This little title, short on fluff but strong on content, has enlightened me to no end.
