Excellent for self-taught flutist! I am an adult flute student and don't have a teacher. This book is wonderful for someone like me, because each piece is preceded by a lesson about the upcoming piece, practice passages, and technique discussion. The pieces are challenging, but not impossible. I do wish the CD offered a slower practice track. Instead, there is only a full-speed track with a professional flutist playing, and then a full-speed performance track with just accompaniment.. fantastic intermediate Julie R Worley My daughter is a junior in high school and is in her sixth year playing flute. This music is perfect for her level. The music is challenging and is accompanied by a CD to clarify any difficulties. She is pursuing one piece for her governor's School audition and one piece for her solo and ensemble piece. We will look for packaging similar to this in the future.. Love it! Chad Pickeral I absolutely love it! I have only played the first song. However, so far I am very impressed. I don't necessarily need the instruction (I've been playing inconsistently for over 6 yrs), but it is nice to have since I didn't have a private teacher but for one year and missed a lot of the instruction that can come with that. The accompaniment is included and played on my laptop. It has two tracks for each song, one with the flute playing and one without. I've only listened to the tracks for the first song and it did a verbal count
