About the Author Kelly Sullivan Pezza is a native of Hope Valley, Rhode Island, and has worked as a journalist for southern Rhode Island newspapers for seventeen years. With an education in law enforcement and many years of experience as a Rhode Island historian and genealogist, she has written hundreds of articles and several books concerning historic true crime and unsolved mysteries in Rhode Island.

Five Stars Good reference book. D. N. Stone said Princess of the Midway. I was extremely impressed by this book. The story of Maggie Sheffield's murder at Rocky Point had been long forgotten, but it is now part of the park's lore forever, even if it is one of the saddest episodes in its history. Even though there is little historical evidence remaining about the murder and trial, the book still contains an admirable amount of detail about Frank's descent into madness and the tragic voyage aboard the Bay Queen that concluded in horror behind a ledge at the amusement park. Most fascinating to me was the author's reconstruction of what the murderer ate in the days leading to the crime and what this reve. More about the park than the crime This was a short book at around 125 pages . It is a bit misleading ,as I would almost categorize it as a history of the Rocky Point Amusement Park in Rhode Island ,more than a true crime .The park history was interesting ,but would be more so if I had ever been there or from the area and heard of it . The author did an excellent job with all the historical research on how the park got started and expanded and grew , and all it's successes and tragedies .The beginning of the book tells all about the park beginnings and growth , then tells a small sliver of a story about the crime, then the rest of the book focuses again on the pa
