Mustaine at his candid, honest best I began to devour this book while waiting in line to meet Dave and have him sign my copy at a book signing in Toronto last week. Very quickly it was evident this memoir is written from a place of candor, humor, humility and honesty that I was both surprised at and appreciative of. After all, the Dave Mustaine of my youth was a balsy mouthpiece with a sneer that could send you running for the hills and melt your heart at once (if you were an impressionable teenaged girl who loved Metal that is). This memoir is like having a conversation with a friend. The stories shared don't come across from a place of bragging or boasti. "Really good read" according to annonymus. I really liked this book. I would highly recommend it to any music lover or heavy metal fan. I now at least understand why Dave was so p***ed after he got fired. I have much more respect for him then I did before I read it. I don't necessarily agree with everything he said but I won't question his view points. If u want a powerful story of pain, loss, betrayal and redemption check this out.. "Dave Mustaine" according to Amazon Customer. Out of all the memoirs of musicians ive read this one is easily the best. The way its paced, the language he uses everything was fantastic.I truly respect his honesty but there is always a feel that he knew some s*** was bad.I read Slashs book and lost a lot of respect for him as a person this was the opposite.Dave Mustaine is a hell of a person.
