About the AuthorROBERT METZGER, a writer and editor, received his B.A. in English from Yale University. For his work on this book, he made research trips to Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New Mexico, where he lived for a time on the Hurds’ ranch. He was trained by Wyeth, but printings reflect his southwest life which he returned to after marring Wyeth's daughter. "History, art, romancewow." according to Sharon S. French. I love this book! I've lived near the Hurd ranch and I paint, so maybe that's why. But the most memorable part of the book for me was the letters between Peter and Henriette. Beautiful! The relationship, the friends, the war history, and much more.all beautifully written. Anybody who likes the Southwest, art, or history would probably enjoy.. "Five Stars" according to Ben B.
