makes scales interesting s e Clearly and logically arranged. As an individual who played flute very well 40 years ago and decided to relearn, I have really appreciated a non-boring reintroduction to the usually boring art of playing scales. Numerous exercises in common major and minor keys, as well as chromatic scales covering most of the range of the instrument have made playing warm up scales much more enjoyable. Arpeggio and velocity studies are also a nice addition. All in all this would be a nice book for an advancing beginner or an intermediate flutist wanting some fairly interesting exercises covering the majority of the range of the i. "flute scale practice" according to Ralph Bartholomew. I've been playing the flute about 5 years now, and am still using Pares Scales for warm up and practice. Its the best one I've found.Ralph Bartholomew. Great book I started using this book when I was in Junior High. Now, as a flute teacher, I recommend my students get it. It is a great scale and technique book.
