You'll be wasting money if you buy this and any other mando book from this publisher.The Good:* Good selection- There's a wide smattering of songs, and probably several that you know/like. I will say that it skews towards late 70's through mid 80's music. The band list should give you a good idea.* Good price- It's not terribly expens. False Advertising The Big Easy Mandolin TAB Songbook is three of those things: it's fairly long, it's for mandolin, and it's a songbook. The range of songs is fairly good.However!It is neither easy nor does it have tabs. For someone like myself who is able to read standard notation, this isn't the end of the world -- though it is skeevy and inconvenient -- but if a beginner purchased this book they would be sorely disappointed. I purchased this songbook for my younger sister, who loves tabs and hasn't been able to learn standard, and to our great dismay, this publisher thinks it can slap "tabs!". This is NOT a TAB book TR Fixer I bought this book in a music store on the road while traveling. Didn't have time to peruse it thoroughly but liked the selection. However, the title is a complete lie. First of all, most songs only have a few bars to TAB to intro the songs, but NOT tab for the songs (I can't do chords and can't read music well enough to do without TAB - I picked up the mandolin a few months ago to help me relax by playing). The only songs that have the entire piece in TAB are the Christmas songs.I strongly recommend you not purchase this book!
