The graphics and layout---to say nothing of the album art itself---are superb. This book is for everyone, for anyone with an interest in music, art, history and the wonderful campy excesses of the disco era. Whether you were there or not, David Hamsley's book will take you there. Whether going back on a nostalgia trip or entering the era for the first time, you're in for a treat. The author gives us lots of great background and anecdotes for the covers and artists that really made me appreciate them a lot more on different levels, although they're all great to just look at as well. I spent hours doing just that. The covers are arranged both chronologically, and in small thematic groupings that make sense together, so the best part is that the author succeeds in telling a story. It was an era I lived through, but I came away feeling like I had learned about it for the first time.. LOVE THIS BOOK! jayejaye1 I guess I'll have to buy another one. I bought this as a gift. When I received it, and took one look at the cover, I HAD to take a peek inside. Well, long story short, I couldn't stop myself. One page led to another, and before I knew it, I had pawed my way through the entire book. Since it is now a "used book", I will not give it as a gift, and buy another one for that.Each time I go through it, it brings back more memories.while looking at the vivid pages, I hear the music, remember the rhythm of the dance, feel the passion of my sex driven youth, and smile. Ahhhh. THIS BOOK IS FUN!
