Delving into the internet it was obvious that this Englishman was an enormously important figure in the early recording industry in America, but nowhere could I find anything which told his story in full. Consequently I was very interested to discover that a biography had finally been written.Unfortunately this attempt to tell the story is one of the most idiosyncratic biographies I have ever read.
