The best pieces in this book have been included in "Complete Advanced Piano Solos." The rest are OK, but not up to the "Professional Touch" standard (and I know that this collection didn't claim to be). Much of this collection seems to be earlier, easier, and less mature stylistically. Th. Coates at his best You may not use every arrangement hereright away. But these are solid, not-too-advanced, good-sounding pieces that will warm the heart of listeners. The chords are a bit conventional, but that's what most partygoers and wedding guests want to hear. If I could only take one book to a cocktail gig, this would be it.. Stephen said out there writing songs that truly make you sound like a better pianist than Dan Coates. These are not difficult to play and will almost certainly be one of the music books you pick up and play often.
