And they are dead on target wtih their reviews!The murder of Mark Fisher, a 19 year old Fairfield Univeristy student, was a tragedy, to say the least. Fisher decided, with a group of friends, to venture into "The City" (NYC); a place he had never visited without "adult" supervision. Several years later, the case of Mark Fisher is "solved" with the arrest and conviction of John Giuca & Antonio Russo, both want-to-be gangsters living in Brooklyn.And that's the story in a paragraph, yet somehow this got turned into a fu. DITTO! Amazon Customer Although I agree with almost all prior reviews, I'm having a hard time with the validity of some. For example:• one reviewer states "drive by's"are common, & asks what's so special about this one that makes it worthy of a book. UMMMThis book is NOT about a drive-by. That phrase isn't even in the book.• someone tries to bring race & social class into it & says the victim was "white" & from a "wealthy" family. UMMMThe victims father was born in COLOMBIA and he lived in a middle-class area. The gang/group of kids involved in killing him were the ones who were whitewith parents who were upper-m. Amateurish & Embarrassing Johnny Reb While the basic outlines of this story seem to have implied a gripping tale, in the hands of these authors it becomes a confused, amateurish series of confused repetitions, vague digressions, and inexplicable non sequiturs. The original story was sensationalized in the NY media because the victim, Mark Fisher, came from more comfortable circumstances and the killers, Giuca and Russo, are decidedly lower-class, and I'm not talking about money. But the media will do things like that.Nonetheless you'll be better off reading about this story in the press, or watching it dramatized on TV. Because in addition to their apparent inab
