"A great read for the true crime fan" according to A Customer. Another great book by the author of Whoever FightsMonsters. This time, Ressler tells of his life beforehe started hunting serial killers, and of his almost obsession-like need to have justice served against a judge who hired someone to kill his wife. Ressler's style is always engrossing, and the adventures he has in his life are amazing.. Karen said Justice is Served. I love murder mysteries and true crime so when my stepfather told me about this story, I just knew I had to get it. It took place in Euclid, Ohio which is a hop, skip and a jump from where I live and my mother was the victim's roommate when they both attended Lake Erie College. I thought that was kind of creepy connection so I ordered it and then I ordered one for my stepdad. I only wish my mother was still

But Ressler was less interested in the prostitution ring than in Kilbane's lawyer, Robert Steele. Almost immediately, the police had suspected Steele, then a prominent judge who'd been having an affair and was known to have inquired about finding someone to murder his wife. This reads like a case file--a litany of details spiced with pinches of bravado but without any real surprises. With tips from disgruntled prostitutes and a confession from the shooter, who was jailed for another murder, Ressler built a case. After three years of dogged pursuit, Kilbane and his brother Martin, as well as Steele were convicted of arranging Marlene Steele's murder. Gradually, Ressler gathered information about Kilbane's criminal activities and cultivated informants. Five years earlier, Steele's wife had been shot dead in her suburban home while she slept.
