From Publishers Weekly True crime maven Phelps (I'll Be Watching You) makes the 2003 murder of 37-year-old bartender Sandee Rozzo the focus of his latest nonfiction thriller. True crime fans will appreciate Phelps's insight into detective work-even the tedium of checking phone records and examining autopsy reports is interesting-and the enormous effort that goes into building a case that will hold up before a jury. Though Phelps infuses his investigative journalism with plenty of energized descriptions, his writing nonetheless suffers from a lack of suspense: readers know from the beginning who's behind the cold-blooded crime. As Seen On Snapped but BETTER!!!! Tabitha Rohm I am biased over Phelps, but I absolutely love this book. I am an aspiring author also and one thing I love about Phelps is that in all his books, he always gives aspiring authors a tip. I don't know if he does it intentionally or if it is just in his nature to explain certain things, but if you look, you will always find a tip from him and this book is no exception. You have probably seen this story on the show Snapped, but you have never heard the details that Phelps gives int his book. I loved it.Kill For Me (Pinnacle True Crime). Excellent book Gayle J Phelps is one of my favorite writersThis book was so well written that I could barely put it down. I had seen this case on a TV program that was an hour long but it was much better reading this book. One thing I like about his books is that he has short chapters so it is easy to find a stopping place to take a break. If you like true crime this book is for you.. "I couldn't put it down" according to rondii. While the book is not a "who-done-it," the author presents a complicated case in interesting and logical detail. There was plenty of suspense to satisfy the true crime reader as we are gripped by wondering "can this evil be stopped"?
