Brandenburgh I've been a fan of the Weavers and the Almanac Singers for several years, and it was great to finally get to read this book and find out the story of one of the key members of those two groups. The author describes how she knew Lee as a friend since the 1950's, and he picked her to write his memoirs after he died. Despite this position, she gives a pretty honest portrayal of his life.To answer another person's question on this product listing, I would definitely recommend this as a resource to learn more about the Weavers. When I saw the book about Lee Hays, one of the members, I knew I had to read it. I've read a lot about Pete Seeger, but had not seen anything on the other members of the group, so I was excited to hear about Lee. The book goes into detail about the hardships of life in the South during the Depression.
