Amazon Customer said great sculptor. I love this book! it's filled with pictures of mary nohl's work and story of her life. The cover says it all, and follows thru in the book. like I said lots of pictures!. Mary Nohl I spend a few minutes each evening with Mary. I am almost at the end of our journey together. What a fascinating person she must have been. What strength of character to remain true to herself against all odds. Her family and friends, while supportive, didn't really seem to understand her it would have been very easy to conform. Also, there were the locals who vandalized her property and her art. It is truly sad to see the place cocooned in barbed wire, yet, it adds an air of intrigue and mystery to her art and her life which I imagine she might have enjoyed.The construction of the book adds to the enjoyment of reading the content. A wonderful surprise, in touch with nature My daughter gave me this book as a gift for my birthday, I did not know anything about Mary Nohl up to this point. My daughter knows I love all art & thought it sounded interesting. WOW am I happy she bought me this gift! The entire story of Mary Nohl's life had me intrigued, the book is very well written, sensitive to the facts & the quality & production of the book is excellent. I attended Cardinal Stritch College in 1972/'73 & after reading the book recalled something about this artist that lived in Fox Piont,WI near the college.
