Flat shoes are okay too This book chronicles the events of a horrific auto accident and how the author coped and survived. The detailed notes kept by the author and her sister provide a most compelling narrative of the relationships between patient, family, faith and her medical providers. She brings to life events that happened over 25 years ago, as if lived yesterday. I should know, I was there. As her surgeon, featured prominently in the first half of the book, her story of the doctor-patient relationship, how it starts, how it develops what it means to both parties i. "Kick off your shoes and read this one!" according to C.C. Ansardi. Deanna Hill's telling of the horrible accident that changed the course of her life and career is written with such vividness that the reader can feel the pain of her surgeries and emotional uncertainty. Yet, the story flow is so smooth and relaxed, one might be sitting in the Hill living room having coffee and reliving the bad old days.
