I found it rather boring. Offers some insight Not well written. Mainly long interviews with old acquaintances. As a big Cat fan, I found it rather boring. Offers some insight, but no direct quotes from Stevens.. "Worth it" according to Patty. Interesting - with objective views on Steve or Cat or whatever alter ego of the now Yusef Islam --the genius/ talent genius seems obvious-- not so much the Marketing/ genius that is explained & how it was utilized in producing "The Star" of the '70's Not to give anything away, but Steve's hospital stay was a Gift from the Universe itself - as it seems all his best work came from this time of recuperation - This book is out of print - so it was kind . Amusing snipits of various ever changing developments of a great talent- Cat STEVENS I thought it almost read like a novel and revealed many surprising characteristics & incidents about Yusuf; both bad & good. It was very pricey at $119 but worth it because there aren't other biographies out there to compare it to. I'm left wanting to know even' more about his personal relationships with past girlfriends, parents, siblings and his wife & children.Let me know if more in depth books like this one are out there?
