Being a huge fan of the Pet Shop Boys (I bought ‘West End Girls’ way back in 1995), and particularly 'Very', I eagerly pre-ordered this book.Now, I wanted very much to like it, and expected some sort of deconstruction of how the album was made, the effect it had, and sound-bites from all those involved.Instead, the book starts (and starts every chapter) with some very strange, almost incomprehensible (“One in a million planes”) free-for. This must be the book I waited years to read. jeffqvist6 I remember being intrigued by Pet Shop Boys' 'Very' when it was released in the autumn of 1993 by virtue of the tactile orange packaging. In my own "pre-Attitude" days, I didn't want to be seen (or heard) listening to a "gay band." Fast forward to 1998 - two years after purchasing 'Discography,' I finally bought 'Very' and instantly considered it an unrivaled masterpiece.
