It is amazing how he was able to make Ernest come to life like as his Alter Ego. I enjoyed reading this because Jim Varney was a private person. It is written affectionately by a family member, who gives special insight into the late Jim Varney. We all miss him and when he passed, sadly, so did his brand of comedy. He gave a wholesome innocent portrayal of a down to earth per. An Endearing Portrait of an Unforgettable Man When I first heard that a book about Jim Varney's life was in the works, I couldn't wait to dive into the pages and learn more about him. Maybe it was the fact that Jim grew up only an hour away from my hometown combined with countless hours of entertainment he has provided me throughout the years. Whatever it was and though I didn't know him personally, I have always held Jim close to my heart. He inspired so much laughter when I was a child and I feel .
