A Customer said Superlative rendering of Ukulele History! Onolicious!. Jim Beloff's book, "The Ukulele:A Visual History", is a wonderful compilation of facts and pictures of this facinating instrument. One of the reasons I liked it was because there are no recent books out about Hawaiian musicians. The ukulele is irrevocably tied to Hawaiian music and musicians; their heritage and their history. I recently purchased a ukulele and I found this book a great resource for understanding the original ukulele makers as well finding a modern luthi. "A Must for an Ukulele Fanatic!" according to Mark W. Swarthout. If you love this diminutive instrument, you owe it to yourself to get this book! It contains the basic history of the instrument, many of the key individuals involved in its evolution and popularity over time. The photographs are incredible, with vintage instruments, sheet music and lots of personalities. The author has a passion for the instrument and is one of the reasons the ukulele has grown so much in popularity in the last two decades and it shows through in the b. a visual knock-out - a must read for ukulele fans A Customer This is a remarkable book for anyone who enjoys musical instraments, old and new.
