"book was too nice and sugar coated." according to DaveSharon. Got two books about one of my favorite country singers. This one is sort of too nice and sugar coated. Love the discography more than anything.. "Good read, some typo issues" according to stooben. Having already read Eileen Sisk's scathing, through-the-glass-darkly biography of Buck Owens prior to this, I must say that this biography of Buck is a breath of fresh air. The author, Kathryn Burke, is a mature lady with a mature voice and outlook on Buck and the sociology surrounding him. She doesn't whitewash Buck, she points out his foibles, but she doesn't present him as the Devil incarnate the way Ms. Sisk did.The problem I have with Ms. Burke's book is either the fault of the publisher. Difficult person to buy forperfect gift! Sarah J. Munsey My husband is so difficult to buy for, but he is a Buck Owen fan, and this was by far one of his favorite gifts! It came in excellent condition and in a timely manner, perfect for the holidays!
