On a good note, this book is perfect for the beginner flautist if he or she is okay with the "canned" sounding background. The music is easy to read with very simple rhythms.. My daughter is happy. I got this for my daughter who is in the 6th grade and in beginning band. Although many of the songs are advanced for her playing ability, she is encouraged as she can play one or two of the songs. She also has her friend from a Christian school helping her learn those harder to play notes. What we like is the fact this songbook contains many songs we sing at church every week. We helped our daughter play by writing the names of the notes. She is doing great, as she continues to learn..
