Non-fiction Fan said Looking for the Next Best Thing. This was a difficult, yet rewarding, book to read. There is no excusing Warren Zevon's assaulting his wife and neglecting his children, and I literally winced when I read these passages. But Warren asked Crystal to be sure his complete story was told and, as a result, we get a rare sense of the full range of demons that motivated such a creative person. By no means a hagiography, this is a detailed. Meh A. Sumner For someone as intense and mercurial as Zevon was, you'd think the book of his life would be at least nominally interesting, but this one is dull, poorly written and too long.I still adore Warren, though, and lament the loss of his stupifying talent..
